 About TransActual
TransActual is a trans run Community Interest Company that works with and for the UK’s trans communities. We are working for a world where all trans people are able to live safely, with dignity and appropriate access to healthcare. 

 Responsibilities:
1 Review existing brand assets; style guides; processes, protocols and standards; and lead on implementing any changes that are needed.
2 Create, implement, and evaluate the impact of a new communications strategy for TransActual.
3 Devise and implement processes for responding to press inquiries in a timely manner, including processes for responding to requests outside of our usual working hours.
4 Use key metrics to evaluate and refine TransActual’s communications, particularly in relation to social media and supporter communications.
5 Engage with TransActual staff and directors, as well as the wider trans community in order to maintain current awareness of the issues impacting and likely to impact the UK trans community at any given moment
6 Manage press inquiries and relationships, including: coordinating press releases, handling incoming queries (both verbally and in writing), and producing rapid reaction statements.
7 Provide expert input and/or implementation across all outbound communications channels and modalities including copy writing, visuals and branding, social media, press, fundraising (individual giving), and marketing.
8 Manage existing press contacts and cultivate new ones.
9 Work with others in the staff team to manage our supporter and stakeholder mailing lists.
10 Work collaboratively on communications matters with staff and/or volunteers from other organisations where it is appropriate to do so.
11 Work with others in TransActual’s team to ensure that our communications to be informed by and accurately represent the lived experiences of trans people in the UK.
12 Support others in TransActual’s team to communicate with trans community members and other key stakeholders about our work.
13 As and where appropriate, work with others in TransActual’s team and in other organisations to build and deliver campaigns on key policy areas.
14 Line manage the Communications Officer and work with them to co-ordinate the Social Media Volunteers.
15 Co-ordinate our communications volunteers.
16 Attend and complete training required for your role, including race equity training, accessibility training, safeguarding adults training, and GDPR training.
17 Follow TransActual’s code of conduct and organizational policies.
