Organizational Communications (~60%)

● Support the development and editing of relevant research briefs about and media analyses on related news coverage trends and industry developments and liaise with relevant contractors 1
● Manage TJA's social media presence across platforms, spearheading the creation of dynamic, engaging content that reflects our mission, values, and strategic framework
● Implement communication strategies that maintain TJA's brand voice and messaging consistency
● Support the development of external relationships with relevant audiences

Community Engagement (~40%)
● Manage membership application process, including review, processing, and onboarding
● Manage and moderate community Slack channels, fostering constructive dialogue and community connection
● Develop and implement engagement strategies to strengthen member participation and satisfaction with organizational programs
● Track member feedback and community needs to inform organizational programming
● Support virtual member trainings, workshops, and professional development opportunities as needed

That means we’re looking for team members who have a history of supporting 1) fair and accurate coverage of trans communities and 2) trans journalists in their careers. We also hope to continue working with people who recognize the complexity and diversity of trans communities and are invested in continuing our work to make sure that our programming, coverage guidance, and additional efforts reflect such.

● Graphic design (think Canva/Photoshop) and content creation
● Marketing and promotions
● Project management
● Public relations and/or organizational communications
