Major Duties & Responsibilities:


A, Coordination

  • Coordinate (internal/external) with relevant stakeholders and health actors (UN agencies, Government agencies, I/NGOs, and local partners), position NCA as an ASRH response agency.
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders such as refugee return affair service (RRS) and UNHCR to ensure close collaboration with the government.
  • Actively represent NCA and its partners in the relevant cluster/coordination meetings or relevant Technical Working Groups, including but not limited to SRH working group, ASRH technical group, GBV subsector, adolescent and youth working group, to advocate for the implementation of ASRH services.

B, Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to implementing partners on SRH standards and protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to global guidelines (e.g., WHO, Inter-Agency Field Manual on Reproductive Health in Humanitarian Settings).
  • Support implementation of MISP components, including clinical management of rape, family planning, maternal health, and STI/HIV prevention.

C, Capacity Building

  • Familiarize the tools and guidelines developed for SRH integration and referral systems.
  • Act as a resource person for SRH-related project design, planning, implementation and reporting
  • Organise training for health workers and partners on SRH in emergencies (family planning, safe delivery, clinical management of rape, etc.).

D, Monitoring and Reporting

  • Establish SRH integration indicators and monitor progress.
  • Conduct supportive supervision and quality assurance visits.
  • Prepare regular reports for clusters and NCA.

E, Advocacy and Resource Mobilization

  • Advocate for SRH integration in humanitarian response plans and funding proposals.
  • Engage with relevant actors and partners to secure resources for SRH interventions.

F, Risk Mitigation and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure safe, confidential, and culturally appropriate SRH services.
  • Monitor supply chain for essential SRH commodities (contraceptives, clean delivery kits, post-rape kits).

G, Accountability and Safeguarding

  • Ensure adherence to humanitarian principles, survivor-centred approaches, and safeguarding standards.

Promote feedback mechanisms and community engagement for SRH services

About You

Minimum Qualification Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, or Midwifery.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in SRH programming in humanitarian settings.
  • Strong knowledge of MISP, GBV guidelines, and multi-sectoral coordination.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with cluster coordination mechanisms and humanitarian architecture.
  • Very good communication skills
  • Familiarity with government and NGO, especially RRS and UNHCR, field operations in Gambela refugee response.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain flexible, and apply experience and guidance to evolving challenges.
  • Language: Fluency in Amharic and English required. Knowledge of the local languages spoken in Gambella is advantageous.
