Gender-based violence (GBV)
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic planning
  • Provide strategic direction and conduct analysis of GBV trends, gaps in service delivery, and MMC capacities to prioritize MMC programs in the country.
  • Contribute to the development of national and inter-agency strategies.

Implementation and capacity building
  • Work closely with the GBV Technical Advisor, senior country management, and the program team to achieve program objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with the MMK Minimum Standards on GBV, as well as relevant inter-agency guidelines and standards.

Coordination, Representation and Protection of Interests at the Highest Level
  • Coordination with other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for victims, including participation in improving standard operating procedures on gender-based violence and referral pathways to relevant services
  • Presenting MMK programs on gender-based violence at relevant coordination meetings and to various stakeholders

Human Resources Management
  • Selection and orientation of program staff/volunteers/partners for effective program implementation
  • Support, mentor and supervise staff to build capacity and improve the quality of interventions


Finance Management
  • Development of work plans in accordance with financial plans
  • Planning and purchasing of resources necessary for the implementation of program activities in accordance with the budget and project implementation schedules.

Safety and Behavior
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies.
  • Consider the safety implications of programs by reviewing plans with teams and relevant stakeholders.


Other 
  • Any other tasks as requested by line manager or designee. 
  •  Additional responsibilities related to temporary expansion of territorial responsibilities, filling vacant positions for a certain period, replacing colleagues during sick/annual leave/business trips, internal reassignment of functions, as well as performing any specific tasks according to the needs of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, international development, management, gender studies, psychology, or a related field is typically required. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be accepted.
• Typically 5+ years of progressive experience in projects related to gender or gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response, or other relevant areas, including a minimum of 2 years in GBV program design and management.
• Demonstrated application of key GBV competencies and commitment to core principles of GBV programming.
• Experience working in humanitarian architecture and knowledge of mandates/roles of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs.
• In-depth knowledge of standards and guidelines for GBV programming, coordination, and data management.
• Knowledge of standards and guidelines related to protection from sexual exploitation and violence.
• Experience in providing services in the field of GBV cases 
• Facilitation experience is a must.
• Experience in a leadership/supervisory role is a must.
• Deep cross-cultural awareness.
• Ability to make informed decisions, remain flexible, and apply their experience and recommendations to address new challenges.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Fluent in English and Ukrainian.
