Program Background
DT Global has been engaged by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to manage the next phase of Australia’s investment in strengthening the delivery of law and justice services in Papua New Guinea for a 4-year period to 31 December 2027.
APLJ seeks to contribute to PNG’s law and justice sector capacity to provide inclusive, safe, secure and accountable law and justice foundations for peaceful and prosperous communities, equitable economic development and private sector growth.
The Role
The GEDSI Lead will lead APLJ’s GEDSI strategies to ensure coherence and integration of GEDSI across all program plans and activities as a basis for people-focused problem analysis and problem-solving.
The Lead will report to the Deputy Team Leader and lead a team of GEDSI specialists who will work across the program and with partners to develop targeted strategies for identified issues and contribute to improved justice services for women, girls, people living with a disability, people accused of sorcery and victims/survivors of violence and other marginalised groups. The GEDSI Lead will also sit on the Senior Management Team, ensuring collaboration and coherence across APLJ while effectively seizing opportunities for impact.

About You
The preferred candidate will have:
· Tertiary qualifications related to law, human rights, gender/social studies, international development.
· Strong technical background in gender and inclusion, addressing GBV/FSV/SARV, community/civil society engagement, social change, and law and justic
· Experience strengthening GEDSI capabilities within institutions, community-based organisations, communities, and program advisers and staff; advocating for gender equality and disability equity or achieve gender equality outcomes
· Knowledge and understanding of the intersectional issues related to GEDSI, GBV, FSV and SARV in the PNG context.
· Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and cross-program collaboration skills.
· Experience working on international development programs, including project planning; delivering results and demonstrating impact.
· Experience in developing and/or working within sound MERL systems and using evidence for adaptive management and decision-making.
