Ladysmith seeks a Madagascar-based national consultant to partner on our qualitative study: "WASH, Menstrual Hygiene, and Adolescent Health: Pathways to Promoting Adolescent Wellbeing and Preventing Early Pregnancy." This UNICEF-funded project aims to identify and address the sociocultural and behavioral barriers adolescent girls face, with the goal of strengthening health and WASH interventions.
We are looking for a consultant who is:
• Based in Madagascar, ideally with experience working in the regions of Androy, Atsimo Atsinanana, Boeny, and Analanjirofo.
• A skilled qualitative researcher with expertise in gender-sensitive approaches, WASH, Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), and/or Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRHR).
• Fluent in Malagasy and French, with professional proficiency in English.
• Available from January 2026 for a period of approximately 6 months (up to 52 working days).
The consultant will lead in-country activities, including:
• Leading qualitative data collection (Key Informant Interviews, Focus Group Discussions) and Community Co-creation Workshops with adolescents, parents, and community leaders. Managing field logistics, ethical approvals.
• Facilitating a national-level stakeholder validation workshop.
• Organizing and facilitating pilot testing sessions of toolkit modules in selected communities.
• Providing critical contextual analysis to ensure our findings and resulting MHM/SRHR training toolkit are culturally resonant and effective.
