Australia Awards PNG
Australia Awards PNG (AAPNG) supports Papua New Guinea’s development by strengthening education, knowledge transfer, and institutional capacity while building enduring Australia–PNG relationships. The program fosters institution-to-institution partnerships and inclusive collaborations to deliver high-quality education and reinforce accredited training institutions. AAPNG develops the next generation of PNG leaders by providing professional and technical training aligned with PNG government priorities. It prioritises equitable access, ensuring opportunities for women, people with disabilities, and individuals from rural and remote areas, thereby promoting inclusive, sustainable development across the country.

- Mainstream GEDSI into the theory of change, MERL framework, and MERL plans.
- Lead and update the AAPNG GEDSI strategy, audits, and baseline analyses.
- Integrate GEDSI into annual workplans/budgets and ensure targeted/mainstream activities.
- Build staff and partner capacity with GEDSI tools, training, safeguards, and child-safe risk assessments.
- Deliver high-quality, timely outputs, ensure VFM, compliance, effective stakeholder collaboration, and strong performance management.
- Champion GEDSI, localisation, Tetra Tech values, and a safe, inclusive workplace.
Selection criteria
- Tertiary qualification in gender equality, international development, social work, or related field, plus experience conducting GEDSI audits and analyses.
- Proven stakeholder relationship management and experience working with the PNG government and agencies.
- Track record delivering GEDSI training, promoting women’s leadership/VAW prevention, and supporting disability inclusion internationally.
- Strong organisation, report-writing, and Microsoft Office 365 skills, with ability to manage competing tasks.
