  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Support in the implementation of gender technical assistance as per the IGNITE+ model. 
• Contribute to strengthening institutional systems and structures towards gender integration for IGNITE+ clients. 
• Support in the design and delivery of participatory training, sensitization, workshops on gender integration for clients 
• Support the development and piloting of capacity building tools that integrate both gender and nutrition into the design and implementation of agriculture activities 
• Respond to simple routine queries by clients and escalate where appropriate, in order to provide a timely and accurate response to enquiries. 
• Support in preparing gender-related reports while adhering to Tanager corporate standards and quality controls. 
• Accompany Tanager staff in specific partners’ meetings, workshops and contribute to project learning. 
• Perform other related duties as required 


 QUALIFICATIONS  
• Bachelor’s degree in gender studies, development studies, sociology, anthropology, women’s studies or other related discipline. 
• Recently completed master’s degree in the above fields of study (within the last 12-18 months) or awaiting graduation. 
• Good understanding of global and continental commitment mechanisms for gender in agriculture for stakeholders such as governments, NGOs, and private sector. Last updated: July 2024
• Understanding of gender in agriculture as well as women’s empowerment concepts and approach. Key competencies 
• Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner. 
• Collaborative and open to feedback. 
• Ability to build & maintain relationships with teams even while navigating challenging or unexpected circumstances. 
• Advanced computer skills in a Windows based environment including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. 
• Fluency in English written and oral, required. Knowledge of French is an added advantage 
• Local travel within Kenya expected <20%.
