We are looking for up to four new trustees to join the board of Pregnant Then Screwed (PTS) at a time of bold ambition and deep reflection. As we mark a decade of campaigning, advocacy, and community-building, we are looking for individuals who share our commitment to ending the motherhood penalty and who bring lived or learned experience of structural inequality.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a movement that is unapologetically feminist, rooted in lived experience, and driven by a vision of a more equitable society for working mothers and parents. Whether you are an experienced trustee or stepping into governance for the first time, we welcome your voice, your insight, and your passion.
We welcome perspectives shaped by various experiences, whether personal, professional, or through witnessing challenges faced by others.

We’re especially interested in applications from people with experience in:
• Fundraising (high value grants, trusts, corporate partnerships, philanthropy).
• Policy and Advocacy (preferably with Scottish and/or English policy-making experience).
• Workplace Equality Expertise (HR, employment law, workplace inclusion, organisational change).

Awareness and active implementation of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) and centring lived experience are essential criteria for all new trustees.You do not need to have been a trustee before. We will provide an induction, access to training, and ongoing support. What matters most is your commitment to our mission and your willingness to contribute your time, energy, and insight.
We actively welcome applications from Black and racially minoritised women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ parents, single parents, and those from low-income backgrounds.
Annual Time Commitment (approximately):
• 4 board meetings per year (2 hours each + 4-6 hours prep) = 24-32 hours.
• 4 sub-committee meetings (2 hours each + 1-2 hours prep) = 12-16 hours.
• 1-2 strategy/development away days = 6-12 hours.
• Occasional recruitment panels or hearings = 10-15 hours.
