 Key Responsibilities 
 Portfolio Relationship Management 
• Develop and independently manage a portfolio of mid to high value current and prospective major donors 
• Provide first class account management for existing major donor relationships and through effective stewardship, upgrade donors where appropriate 
• Follow through leads and deliver persuasive and professional face-to-face/ virtual meetings with existing donors 

 New Revenue Generation 
• Develop new donor relationships by working with the Prospect Researcher to research potential prospects and then designing and implementing cultivation plans to drive new business 
• Following through leads and delivering persuasive and professional face-to-face/ virtual meetings with potential donors 

Engagement Activities 
• Organise and support engagement activities for the Major Partnerships Unit, in particular high profile prospecting/stewardship events and webinars, overseeing associated expenditure budgets 
Stakeholder Management 
• Work with the Programmes Team to source projects available for funding and ensuring proposals and reports are compelling, submitted on time and are appropriate for the gift level. 
• Establish and develop solid partnerships with colleagues across the Plan network in order to facilitate donor relationships 

Other Duties 
• Maintain accurate records on the database system (CARE) 
• Attend regular team, Unit and Directorate and contribute to the overall smooth operation of the Unit 
• Provide administrative support to the Major Donor team where required 

 Essential Criteria 
Experienced in working in a fundraising environment, managing and prioritising a portfolio of existing and prospective funders Excellent experience in managing and supporting events and or engagement activities 
A proven track record in meeting, or exceeding, financial targets and soliciting gifts from existing donors and prospects 
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to build relationships, negotiate and persuade a wide range of audiences both internally and externally 
Committed to keeping up-to-date on key development and fundraising issues and able to spot and maximise new opportunities as they may arise Solutions focussed, with the ability to identify and propose solutions to drive forward continuous improvement 
Open to change and able to demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach 
Ability to use Microsoft systems to create engaging reports, presentations and emails 
Highly proactive – able to work on own initiative with a flexible attitude to work to effectively manage a varied workload, using strong organisational skills
