ActionAid is a global federation working for a world free from poverty and injustice. ActionAid’s Regional Office for Eastern Europe was established in Kyiv in 2022 and is covering projects in Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Moldova and Georgia. ActionAid works through a wide range of local partner organisations in the nexus, prioritising young people’s leadership, civil society development, women’s rights and leadership, the protection of at-risk groups and minorities, as well as humanitarian assistance.
Tasks and Priorities
1. Technical Supervision and Case Support
- Provide structured supervision to partner GBV case management staff and their supervisors through regular meetings, coaching, and observation.
- Support partner in managing high-risk GBV cases, ensuring survivor-centered and safe referral pathways.
- Review case documentation and provide professional guidance in line with GBV AoR standards and the Inter-Agency Case Management Guidelines.
- Identify training and development needs of partner staff and coordinate targeted capacity-building support.
- Ensure that supervision processes contribute to staff well-being, professional growth, and prevention of secondary trauma.
2. Policy, SoP, and Quality Assurance
- Review and provide recommendations for improvement of GBV-related policies, procedures, and SoPs of both partner organization and ActionAid.
- Ensure that partner SoPs are harmonized with the inter-agency GBV minimum standards and donor compliance requirements.
- Contribute to updating referral pathways, ensuring they are functional, accessible, and inclusive.
- Support partners to develop and maintain effective confidentiality, consent, and data protection procedures for GBV case management.
3. Capacity Strengthening
- Promote feminist, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered approaches within partner teams.
- Support partner in strengthening internal supervision systems and documentation practices.
- Facilitate learning exchanges and reflective spaces between partner GBV supervisors to promote peer learning and continuous improvement.
4. Coordination and Reporting
- Collaborate with ActionAid’s team to align GBV supervision with broader protection strategies.
- Participate in inter-agency GBV coordination mechanisms, as relevant.
- Prepare periodic supervision and technical support reports summarizing key findings, challenges, and recommendations.
- Ensure timely communication and feedback to partners on supervision outcomes and action plans.
- Provide detailed inputs and updates for donor reports, summarizing supervision findings, case trends, capacity-building outcomes, and key lessons learned.

Who we're looking for:
Essential:
- University degree in psychology, social work, gender studies, or another relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in GBV programming, including case management and technical supervision roles.
- Proven experience in staff supervision, coaching, and mentoring within humanitarian or protection contexts.
- Demonstrated understanding of GBV guiding principles, case management standards, and inter-agency SoPs.
- Experience working with national civil society organizations and supporting capacity building.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, PSEA, and safeguarding principles.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Ukrainian.
