Peace and Security
The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation
Kvinna till Kvinna has defended women’s rights since 1993 — for every woman’s right to be safe and to be heard. Today, we are one of the world’s leading women’s rights organisations, working directly in areas affected by war and conflict to strengthen women’s influence and power. We work closely with over 150 local partner organisations across 20 countries to end violence against women, achieve lasting peace, and close the gender gap once and for all.
The future is equal. And together, we are change.
The future is equal. And together, we are change.
About the job
Kvinna till Kvinna has supported women’s rights in Liberia since 2009, with an office in Monrovia since 2011.
As Programme Manager, you will lead the daily work of the programme team and ensure high-quality implementation of two key programmes: POWER (funded by Sida) and Strengthen Her Voice (funded by UNPBF). You will manage partnerships with women’s rights organisations and activists across Liberia and ensure that our work aligns with Kvinna till Kvinna’s mandate, values, and operational plans.
While you will not have direct line management responsibilities, you will guide and support the programme officers and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and value-based team culture. You will work closely with the Country Director, Finance Manager, and other Liberia office staff, as well as with colleagues at Kvinna till Kvinna’s Head Office in Sweden.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of ongoing programmes.
- Lead programme planning, budgeting, and narrative reporting in collaboration with the Country Director and Finance Manager
- Coordinate partnerships with women’s rights organisations, ensuring timely agreements, reporting, and communication.
- Develop and deliver capacity-building activities for partners in line with programme goals.
- Represent Kvinna till Kvinna in relevant coordination forums, donor meetings, and with government ministries when delegated.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture and ensure smooth internal coordination.
About You
You are a strategic and hands-on programme professional with a solid understanding of partnership-based work and women’s rights in development or peacebuilding contexts. You demonstrate strong analytical and coordination skills, can manage multiple priorities, and are deeply committed to gender equality and human rights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Political Science, Sociology, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- At least six (6) years of experience in programme or project management within development or humanitarian organisations.
- Experience working with civil society partners and providing capacity-building support.
- Strong understanding of women’s rights, gender equality, and peacebuilding issues.
- Proven skills in project planning, budgeting, monitoring, and donor reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Demonstrated commitment to feminist values and human rights.
