Purpose of the consultancy


The Center is seeking a Brussels-based consultant to support its work at the European Union level. This consultancy will provide desk-based support and research, as well as other assistance, to advance the Center’s activities at the EU level.


The consultant will be supervised by the Center’s Legal Advisor for Europe who is based in Brussels.


Primary focus of the consultancy

  • Monitoring of relevant EU institutions:
    • Monitor and track relevant developments across the EU including the work of the European Parliament committees: FEMM, SANT, LIBE, DROI, AFET; written parliamentary questions; European Commission consultations and legislative proposals; Council Conclusions
    • Follow relevant EP meetings FEMM, SANT, LIBE, DROI and AFET and share summary notes
    • Track EP votes on relevant reports/resolutions and update voting record tools accordingly
    • Stay abreast of EU related news and share timely updates
  • Support legal and policy research and advocacy:
    • Conduct research on EU law and policy
    • Contribute to legal and policy analysis for EU advocacy
    • Contribute to drafting written materials, including advocacy materials, talking points, submissions, and correspondence
    • Contribute to the preparation of presentations
  • Logistical and administrative support:
    • Support organization of events, workshops and meetings
    • Monitor relevant events and meetings and share summary notes
    • Assist with tracking engagement with EU actors and maintaining up to date EU contact lists
  • Other deliverables as assigned and to be agreed as part of the contract.
