Gender-based violence (GBV)
In close collaboration with the Director and other Hub stakeholders, the incumbent will:
- Framework Development. In consultation and partnership with a consortium of practitioners, researchers, funding partners and others, facilitate the co-creation of a robust and comprehensive framework for the integration of practice-based evidence alongside ‘scientific’ research within the knowledge and evidence eco-system.
- Advocacy and Communications. Advocate for the inclusion of community insights and practice-based knowledge in the existing evidence eco-system and knowledge production and foster a more inclusive and equitable approach to shape and build evidence-informed interventions for responding and preventing childhood sexual violence.
- Methods and Measures. In partnership with consortium develop an approach for including practitioner evidence and knowledge in systematic reviews and methodology for updating existing reviews on programmes and interventions on child sexual abuses prevention. Work with other partners within the Hub to implement this approach and creative methodologies for inclusion of practice-based knowledge in all activities of the Hub.
- Learning Products: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to co-create and develop a diverse range of user-friendly tools, resources, and guidelines. These may include recommendations, briefs, case studies, and other knowledge products that facilitate the ethical incorporation of practice-based learning into evidence-generation efforts.
- Communications and Dissemination. In partnership with the Hub communication team, tailor these resources to effectively address the specific needs and contexts of practitioners and frontline workers, ensuring they can readily apply and benefit from the knowledge generated through practice-based approaches.
- Crowd Sourcing Research Priorities. Engage in a collaborative effort with the SVRI Child Sexual Violence research to jointly establish a comprehensive list of research priorities in the realm of Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA) prevention.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning. Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation activities of the Solutions Hub. Work with the MEL consult to collect and analyze data to assess the impact of practice-based learning initiatives and knowledge products.
- Knowledge Exchange and Networking. Support Hub’s leadership in facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences among practitioners, researchers, and funders in the field of CSV prevention. Support planning for workshops, webinars, and other learning events to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Technical Expertise. Stay updated with the latest research, best practices, and innovations in the field of CSV prevention particularly related to practice-based knowledge and learning.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: A postgraduate degree (Doctoral degree is a plus) in a relevant field such as social sciences, public health, or international development. Demonstrated experience in practice-based research, knowledge translation, and evidence-based interventions related to childhood sexual violence prevention. Between 10-15 years of experience working in your field.
- Writing and Language Skills. Ability to work in multiple languages will be an added advantage – especially English and Spanish. Excellent writing skills and ability to translate complex language into language that is accessible to multiple audiences.
