ROLE PURPOSE: The Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Coordinator will provide technical leadership and coordination on gender equality and social inclusion efforts within the SIDA CSO Project. The role ensures that project interventions are inclusive, gender-responsive, and promote the participation and empowerment of marginalized and vulnerable groups, including women, girls, children with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and other disadvantaged populations.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Technical leadership and capacity building

Provide technical support on GESI mainstreaming across all components of the SIDA CSO project.
Develop and deliver training, coaching, and tools for project staff and partners on gender equality and social inclusion.
Support the integration of GESI-sensitive approaches in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
Ensure gender and inclusion are reflected in project documents, including log frames, workplans, project reports, and knowledge products.
Lead GESI related learning and webinars at country level, regional level and global level as per requirements.
Share project GESI Lessons learned as required at country, regional and global level.

Program implementation and coordination
 Lead the implementation of GESI activities as outlined in the project work plan.
Collaborate closely with project teams and partners to ensure GESI-sensitive implementation of activities at community and organizational levels
Ensure partners GESI participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups in project decision-making processes and interventions.
Support civil society partners to strengthen their internal GESI policies, capacities, and programming.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)
Work with MEAL teams to develop and apply GESI-sensitive indicators and tools.
Collect and analyse data disaggregated by gender, age, disability, and other relevant factors to inform program adaptations.
Contribute to learning and documentation of good practices, case studies, and success stories related to GESI.
Monitor the effectiveness of inclusion strategies and provide recommendations for improvement.

Advocacy and representation
Represent the project in GESI-related working groups, networks, and forums at local and national levels.
Support evidence-based advocacy initiatives on gender and inclusion issues in collaboration with Save the Children’s advocacy team.
Strengthen partnerships with women’s rights organizations, disabled persons organizations (DPOs), and other relevant stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, or related field. 
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in gender and social inclusion programming, preferably within Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). 
Strong knowledge of gender and inclusion frameworks, tools, and practices, including intersectionality, gender-based violence (GBV), disability inclusion, and child rights. Experience in capacity building of civil society organizations on GESI. 
Proven ability to deliver training and technical support on gender and inclusion topics. 
Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and coordination skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili
