Position Overview
The Program Associate’s primary responsibility is to assist and support the Program Director in coordinating and implementing the IFIP Indigenous Women’s Program and related project activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to advance IFIP’s mission and the Indigenous women’s program goals. The Program Associate will contribute to all logistical aspects of meeting and event planning, coordination, monitoring of expenses, and reporting of program activities while upholding the organization’s values and principles. The role will also require flexibility for meetings outside of normal business hours and occasional domestic and international travel to support in-person activities. 

The Program Associate will work under the supervision of the Program Director and in close collaboration with program staff, IFIP members and stakeholders.


Required Qualifications and Experience
·        At least 3 years of experience in non-profit organizations, community engagement, project coordination, philanthropy or related field. 
·        Bachelor’s degree is preferred in non-profit management, gender studies or women’s rights, international relations and/or a related field.
·        Proven knowledge on Indigenous Women’s rights and demonstrated experience working with grassroots and Indigenous Peoples’ organizations.
·        Excellent project management skills and detailed oriented.
·        Knowledge of event planning and willingness to organize logistics and manage event budgets. A high attention to detail is required from the high level of a project to its smallest details.
·        Experience in public speaking and relationship building of diverse stakeholders such as funders and Indigenous Peoples’ organizations.
·        Flexible and able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with working remotely as part of a team.
·        Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite, remote meeting tools, and cloud-based project management/file storage systems.
·        Flexibility to work with team members across time zones and attend meetings outside of normal business hours.
·        Excellent oral and written communication skills required in both English and Spanish.
·        Ability to travel domestically and internationally to urban and rural areas where English may not be the main language. Able to transport materials with luggage as needed. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination required.
