Women Deliver is a global feminist advocacy organization with a clear mission: to ensure that every self-identifying girl and woman can exercise full control over her body and life. We believe sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are the cornerstone of bodily autonomy and have convened gender equality advocates from all levels of power for almost two decades to advance this cause. While we are best known for our convening power, our expertise extends beyond the Women Deliver Conferences to global advocacy for gender equality. Specifically, we have extensive experience in navigating and leveraging global spaces; in equitable youth engagement and co-leadership, including resourcing young people working for change in their communities, countries, and region; and in supporting and strengthening coalitions and collective movements.  

Summary of the Position:

The Senior Manager, Multilateral Engagement, leads Women Deliver’s Climate Justice portfolio, including its implementation and any future revisions needed to ensure the strategy is relevant and response to the current needs of girls and women in the evolving climate crisis. Beyond their specific issue portfolio, the Senior Manager, Multilateral Engagement leads the Multilateral Engagement Team by managing several full-time staff and providing technical and strategic leadership on organizational strategies related to Member States, Global Spaces, and other issue area strategies. The Senior Manager also leads Women Deliver’s engagement in New York based UN Processes, including the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), Commission on Population and Development (CPD), the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and others depending on strategic priority, by developing our Strategy for Engagement in that global space and overseeing its implementation through collaboration with other staff and partner organizations. Relatedly, this position also manages Women Deliver‘s relationships with the Permanent Missions to the United Nations in New York. Lastly, this position plays a key leadership role across the organization by bringing expertise in multilateral engagement and advocacy to Women Deliver’s other workstreams, including the Emerging Leaders Program, Women Deliver Conferences, and the Feminist Playbook. 

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in policy, advocacy and/or program management work in an NGO, UN agency, or similar organization, working in a related field such as human rights, SRHR, gender equality, climate justice, or sustainable development. 
  • Strong understanding of one or more multilateral spaces or processes, as relevant for the specific issue portfolio, as well as New York based UN processes. 
  • Experience in drafting and executing new advocacy strategies and campaigns based on organizational comparative advantage and intersections with other organizational portfolios. 
  • Highly skilled in building and managing relationships and partnerships with a diversity of stakeholders, including Member States, UN entities, coalitions and networks, NGOs, adolescent and youth advocates, and foundations. 
  • Well-connected and credible in climate, feminist, gender equality and/or other related movements and networks. 
  • Experience on advocacy efforts with advocates and leaders from low- and middle-Income countries, including with adolescents or youth  
  • Fluent in English (Women Deliver’s primary working language); additional language skills are a plus.
