The preferred candidate will play a key role in helping clients embed gender-lens considerations, processes and policies to unlock sustainable economic growth, and drive business success.
The successful candidate will be required to provide strategic and technical support to improve gender equality across priority sectors and must have in-depth experience and understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment issues. The successful candidate will provide technical support, conducting relevant research, analysis and capacity building activities aimed at providing information and knowledge-base and useable methodologies to corporates or investors/funds and their portfolio companies. The candidate will be required to engage with a variety of stakeholders (communities, NGO’s, Investors, businesses) to equip them with the knowledge and tools to improve gender inequality, eradicate gender-based violence and harassment and empower women and children..
The candidate will also be required to lead engagements with corporates or investors/funds and their portfolio companies to build their capacity and buy-in. The candidate must be an effective communicator and project manager with a strong work ethic and a proactive, can-do attitude as the role is dynamic, and will require the management of multiple work streams and priorities simultaneously.
The role will entail the following:
· Management of projects (including project team management, financial management, client management, deliverable management, and time management) with appropriate support from senior colleagues and directors
· Manage relationships with clients and undertake business development activities to support company growth including preparation of proposals, development of and management of client relationships, ongoing enhancement of the service offering, development of strategic partnerships and contribute to thought leadership
· Compilation, analysis and interpretation of gender and gender-based violence and harassment issues/risks and top-quality reporting
· Design of custom gender diagnostic tools for companies, funds and their investee portfolio to assess, track and report on gender impacts against good practice benchmarks and sustainable finance frameworks and standards
· Development of organisation-specific gender toolkits to guide investors including funds/funds of funds and corporates in the tactical implementation of gender mainstreaming initiatives across their portfolio/footprint
· Development of policies and measures aligned to international and national standards and best practice to assess, prevent, respond to and monitor risks of gender-based violence and harassment
· Gender lens review and gap analyses of workplace operational policies, procedures and practices
· Development of gender programmes that set the roadmap for assessing, preventing, responding to and monitoring risks of GBVH that may occur in the workplace, supply chain and between a company’s employees and neighbouring communication
· Customized training and capacity building for corporates or investors/funds and their portfolio companies to support gender mainstreaming through their investments
· Day to day advisory support in the implementation of gender management systems and mainstreaming
· Supporting cross-learning and collaboration on gender between different areas of the business
· Help develop team, and shape the team’s goals and strategy, and supporting the growth of the service offering
