Scope of Work:
The consultant will be responsible for producing the following reports in English. They will include several stages of internal clearance, following which revisions will need to be made to the reports as per comments received.
- The UNICEF Annual UN SWAP Report, and additional contributions to the UN Gender Equality Acceleration Plan report
- Draft report in Word form based on inputs from various HQ divisions and the 2024 report
- Substantive edits and follow up with colleagues as needed for clarifications and/or questions.
- Uploading of text to reporting portal for finalized PDF
- Drafting the UNICEF inputs (based on existing content) into the annual UN SWAP letter
- UNICEF GAP Executive Board Report
- Draft report based on inputs received from UNICEF COs, Regional Gender Advisors and UNICEF programme sectors and divisions
- Revise and finalise the draft report based on management feedback
- Draft key messages and sensitive issues for the PowerPoint presentation to the Executive Board
- The UNICEF Global Annual Results Report on gender equality, and additional contributions to the Spotlight on the Gender Equality Thematic Fund
- Draft text extracted from the Executive Board Report
- Support the identification and editing of case studies
- Support the selection and compilation of inputs into the Spotlight on the Gender Equality Thematic Fund
- Review laid out report and finalize with designer
Qualifications
University degree in Business; Social Sciences; Gender Studies; Communications; Intercultural/multicultural studies or Diversity & Inclusion is required, etc.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible professional work experience
- Past experience with UNICEF in children’s rights, women and girls’ empowerment, gender equality is an advantage;
- Must demonstrate excellent writing skills with specific experience writing reports on gender related issues, including health and education
- Be able to work independently as well as with a team in an international, multicultural and interdisciplinary environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
- Required computer skills (MS Windows, MS Office applications, Infographics).
- Ability to communicate sensitively to different audiences.
- Familiar with Do No Harm principle and ethics
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
