UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.
Purpose of Activity/Assignment:
Provide technical support to selected target locations through SDG localization and Gender Equality Accelerator projects, in line with UNICEF programmatic policies and approaches.
How can you make a difference?
Scope of Work:
- Collaborate closely with relevant authorities, stakeholders, and partners to support the implementation of the EU-funded Gender Equality Accelerator Programme, with a focus on advancing social entrepreneurship and integrated case management for the most vulnerable women in designated target locations, including through establishment of multisectoral working groups.
- Provide technical assistance and strategic guidance to local partners throughout all phases of project implementation, including monitoring and reporting, with a strong focus on gender.
- Facilitate capacity-building initiatives related to integrated case management and support the organization of trainings and other relevant events.
- Ensure the development of high-quality local social entrepreneurship schemes targeting the most vulnerable women, emphasizing sustainability and fostering collaboration with a broad range of partners.
- Monitor the implementation of programme activities and grants, ensuring timely and high-quality reporting.
- Promote effective information sharing among UNICEF partners involved in the project and foster synergies with other programme components within the same target areas.
- Coordinate with partners to organize peer-to-peer learning events and other engagements, including those involving donors and key stakeholders and contribute to service needs assessment.
- Provide technical support to the eight SDG2BiH target locations in finalizing and implementing their Social Protection Local Action Plans.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of SDG Week events, ensuring active participation of relevant partners.
- Organize capacity-building and peer-learning activities for Social Protection and Inclusion Commissions in SDG2BiH target locations.
- Prepare inputs for donor reports and other documentation, as required.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience at local governance level in the area of social policy/social protection and inclusion
- Knowledge of Social Polices and Social Protection
- Knowledge of gender and experience in gender-related programmes, especially social protection programmes supporting vulnerable women
- Knowledge of Human Rights, with focus on CRC
- Knowledge of public administration, governance, and decentralized social protection systems
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Experience in engaging with the private sector stakeholders to leverage financing for social services
- Teamwork sills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines effectively
- Familiarity with UNICEF’s mandate, policies, and approach to social protection development. Previous experience with UNICEF is an asset
- Knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals, social protection, social welfare, and/or previous experience with UNICEF
- Ability to analyze documents, gather information from key stakeholders and synthesize into succinct format
- Knowledge of English and BHS language required
