About Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity, founded in 1976, is a global, Christian-based nonprofit organization that grew out of an intentionally multi-racial community in rural Georgia. Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat brings together people of all faiths and people of no faith to build homes, communities and hope. Working alongside each other, we help families and individuals build and improve places to call home and achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Habitat seeks individuals who have a willingness to affirm these principles and values.
As part of our work at Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), we have created the Gender Equity Curiosity Collective (GECC) to transform the approach to gender equity in our housing programs. It helps identify promising practices & opportunities; identify key priority areas requiring global investment; develop guidance & tools; position HFHI more credibly & design & implement programs that meaningfully address gender inequities within housing.
The GECC’s objectives are to support teams to:
Integrate gender equity into programs
Learn & contribute to global learning, tools, & guidance
Improve existing tools & develop new ones
Build credibility externally through research
Begin to explore how a greater understanding of the intersections of overlapping identities influences our approach to housing opportunities & solutions
HFHI is seeking a learning expert consultant to support gender equity, applied learning & reflective practice with up to 6 GECC teams.
Scope of Work:
*Provide on-going support to 6 participant teams in implementing their plans to integrate gender equity into their programs (30 days)
* Offer advice & providing support to teams in relation to tools, methodology, reflective practice & learning grounded in gender equitable, inclusive principles

* Offer advice globally on the overall approach to engaging & supporting teams
* Facilitate collective learning (4 days): informed by the teams’ learning this may include global/regional learning groups, methodological or thematic learning groups or other groupings. It will include facilitating on-line meetings & promoting networking & exchange between teams
