Gender-based violence (GBV)
DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community.
About the job
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Supervise GBV caseworkers, providing technical guidance, age/gender-appropriate and survivor-centered support, in coordination with the Protection Specialist (GBV/CP).
- Conduct case conferences with the CP /Legal team when relevant.
- Hold cash panel meetings with GBV caseworkers and validate cases for individual protection cash assistance.
- Hold inter-agency case management meetings for high-risk cases when needed.
- Monitor and ensure accurate updating of GBVIMS+ and referrals databases; analyze trends.
- Oversee RIMS utilization and follow up on referrals.
- Conduct monthly review of open cases using case management supervision tools and provision of coaching sessions as deemed necessary
- Hold regular individual and group supervision meetings with caseworkers and develop plans to improve capacity gaps.
- Develop and implement capacity-building plans for staff and partners and provide incremental training to strengthen case management and PSS skills, in coordination with the National Protection unit and Protection Specialist (GBV/CP).
- Maintain updated service mapping and ensure staff awareness of available services. Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of service providers operating in the area and ensure that caseworkers are informed about the available services
- Stay informed of SOPs and best practices at field, national, and global levels.;
- Ensure staff and partners apply GBV Minimum Standards and National SOPs. Act as focal point for inter-agency GBV case management hubs and referrals.
- Identify technical gaps in the program and identify/implement solutions to address these gaps in coordination with the National Protection unit and Area Programme Manager;
Required
- At least 3 years of proven experience in implementation of protection programming; human rights and/or advocacy work, preferable related to GBV.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Social Work, Psychology, Gender Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- At least 2 years of previous managerial and supervision experience: managing a department or a sector with multiple subordinates.
- Proven experience working in displacement and emergency settings.
- Proven Experience in organizing and facilitating capacity-building initiatives, including trainings for colleagues and partners.
- Familiarity with community-based protection programming and ability to incorporate lessons learned from similar experiences.
- Experience in implementing projects through local partners and providing direct technical support to local organizations.
- Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible with working hours and able to handle pressure well
- Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
