The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a pan-African NGO established in 1992 to empower girls and women through gender-responsive education across sub-Saharan Africa. Headquartered in Nairobi, FAWE operates in 33 countries, working closely with governments, policymakers, and communities to drive transformative change in education.
FAWE is implementing the FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Phase II Second Chance Pathways Programme across 10 chapters in Africa. The programme seeks to provide marginalized youth, particularly girls and young women, with pathways to complete their education, acquire market-relevant skills, and transition into meaningful livelihoods.
During Year 2, Half-Year reporting, the Regional Secretariat (RS) noted significant challenges in the quality and consistency of reports submitted by the 10 implementing chapters. Reports were characterized by poor structure, inadequate data analysis, weak articulation of outcomes, and required multiple rounds of feedback before finalization.
As the programme advances, it is imperative to strengthen the capacity of staff across the chapters to produce high-quality, timely, and accurate narrative and financial reports that effectively capture programme progress, impact, and learning. The next reporting period is scheduled for November 2025 (Annual Review). Ahead of this deadline, FAWE RS seeks to engage a consultant to deliver targeted training to build the reporting skills of programme teams.
