Background
UNDP’s Internship Programme provides interns with a framework for gaining experience through practical work assignments and exposure to UNDP’s work. One of the most important advantages of being an intern is the close interaction with the supervisor and colleagues and the opportunity to develop the skills required within a professional environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Project Analyst for Gender Mainstreaming in UNDP Office in Montenegro, and s/he will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Provide support in the process of organizing participatory events (including sharing invitations, logistics, liaison with internal and external stakeholders);
    Preparation of routine letters, correspondence, memoranda, and reports as needed;
  • Compilation of information for meetings and writing minutes; filing data from various sources;
  • Participation in/assistance to the activities related to the capacity building of various actors;
  • Participation in/assistance with the activities related to the data collection and analysis of gender equality related actions;
  • Participate in the meetings/sessions concerning the development of policy/strategy responses;
  • Participate in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting;
  • Support communication initiatives related to UNDP's Gender programme in Montenegro, such as drafting social media posts;
  • Collaborate with the Communications Analyst, gender local consultants and Gender cluster members to create and enhance UNDP’s presence on social media platforms, with a focus on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. 
The intern will have the opportunity to:

•    Participate in in-house training opportunities as applicable.
•    Learn UNDP's structure, mechanisms, policies, and practice areas.
•    Strengthen their effective writing.

Required Skills and Experience 
Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme or higher); 
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent); 
(c) Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation; 
(d) Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.

Field of study: Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or equivalent. 

•    Demonstrated interest and some experience in development projects;  
•    Good analytical and drafting skills in English and Montenegrin;
•    Good presentation and communication skills in English and Montenegrin.
•    Knowledge and proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools;
•    Proficiency in English and Montenegrin, both written and verbal, is required.
