IAFFE is seeking a Conference & Events Coordinator (‘Coordinator’) to support the IAFFE Presidents and other key stakeholders in organizing IAFFE’s Annual Conference, the annual Feminist Economics School, sessions at international economics conferences (including AEA/ASSA), regional network events, regular online events, and other potential online or in-person events.

The above JD contains the main responsibilities and duties of this position. However, in an ever-evolving organization such as IAFFE, staff members are expected to show flexibility in their approach to work and be willing to undertake other tasks that are reasonably allocated to them but which are not part of their regular JD. Where any task becomes a regular part of a staff member’s responsibilities, the JD should be changed in consultation between the Managing Director, the staff member, and the personnel committee of the EC. Any one of the three may initiate the consultation.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
● At least three years of experience in events management, preferably in academic conferences
● Experience in planning and executing webinars and/or online events,
● Proficient knowledge of event management platforms and database management (particularly abstract submission tools, event management software (EMS), and databases such as Airtable).
● Experience with online collaboration tools, particularly Zoom, GSuite, and Slack.
● Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects at the same time.
● Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and communication
● Proven experience working in a remote environment with the ability to work with a diverse and virtual team and engage team members, build relationships and consensus.
● Excellent written and verbal communication in English
● Ability to travel internationally (approx.1-2 weeks per year)
