About Womankind Worldwide
Womankind Worldwide is a global women’s rights organisation working in partnership with women’s rights movements and organisations to transform the lives of women and girls. We strengthen and support women’s movements in our focus countries in Africa and Asia, and take collective action at regional and global levels, to ensure women’s voices are heard, their rights are realised, and their lives are free from violence. Currently, Womankind has staff based in Kenya and the UK.
The Role
We are seeking a bold, strategic and values-driven feminist leader to join our Senior Management Team at a pivotal moment in Womankind’s journey. You will share our vision for a world where all women, girls and people of all genders enjoy equal rights and freedoms and live with joy, choice and dignity.
Bringing deep and lived experience of working in partnership with women’s rights organisations and feminist movements, you will understand the global inequalities and local realities that shape the lives of girls, women and people of all genders particularly in Africa and Asia. You will champion transformative change in the face of complex global challenges.
As an experienced leader, you will bring sharp strategic thinking and the courage to challenge traditional models of power in development and philanthropy. You will lead and inspire our programmes and learning work, advocate for flexible, trust-based grant making and decolonial partnership approaches rooted in mutual respect, solidarity and shared power. You will be excited by transformational funding models that shift power to women’s rights organisations and movements, enabling them to lead change on their own terms.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will play a critical role in driving the strategic direction of the organisation to achieve our 2030 Feminist Future Strategy. You will bring a whole-organisation mindset, contributing to the leadership of our feminist culture, collective wellbeing, anti-racism work, and organisational sustainability.
You will lead with curiosity and a commitment to learning, creating spaces for reflection and innovation across the organisation which works in a multi-location environment.
