Humanitarian Aid is one of the four departments of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC. It is involved in protecting the interests of vulnerable population groups prior to, during and after periods of conflict, crises or natural disasters.
The Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit (SHA) is the operational arm of Swiss Humanitarian Aid. Its specialists are deployed to implement projects of the SDC or its UN partners before, during and after periods of crisis or conflict.


Key Responsibilities:
· Lead regional implementation of UNFPA's PSEAH Strategy, including work planning, progress monitoring, and reporting.
· Provide technical guidance to COs on SEAH prevention, response, risk mitigation, and partner PSEAH due diligence.
· Coordinate and support the regional network of PSEA Focal Points through technical support, guidance, and knowledge-exchange.
· Represent the organization in regional inter-agency forums and contribute to UN and IASC system-wide PSEAH efforts.
· Support to CO leadership and management with implementing strategies to implement UNFPA's zero tolerance for sexual misconduct.
· Act as liaison between the PSEAH Unit and Regional Office.
· Support development and adaptation of policies, tools, and guidance to regional and country contexts.
· Collect and analyze data, contribute to reporting, and develop knowledge products to inform programming and accountability.
· Promote ethical leadership, culture change, transparency and accountability across the region.

Skills required
Advanced university degree in Law, International Development, Social Work, Gender (including Gender-based Violence), Sociology, Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field.
·       At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian or development contexts.
·       Prior engagement in inter-agency mechanisms and coordination bodies (IASC, UN system, etc.).
·       Experience with and implementing relevant PSEAH technical standards and frameworks.
·       Experience in programming, budget management, and results-based programme delivery.
·       A robust understanding of UNFPA's operational environment at country level.
·       Demonstrated capacity in coordination, technical support, coordination, and organizational capacity development.
·       Demonstrated experience in advocacy and leadership engagement on protection-related issues.
·       Fluency in English is required.
·       Fluency in French if based in the Western and Central African Regional Office, fluency in Spanish if based in Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office.
