Tasks and responsibilities | Expected commitment: 2-3 hours per week (as per your availability) Girls In Global (GiG) is seeking a dedicated and tech-savvy Volunteer IT & Website Manager to oversee and manage the organisation’s digital platforms. The IT & Website Manager will be responsible for maintaining and updating GiG’s website hosted on Wix, ensuring seamless user experience, and implementing any necessary changes. Additionally, this role will manage the volunteer management system on TeamKinetic, with training provided. Your work will directly support GiG’s mission by ensuring that our digital tools function effectively to engage our volunteers and audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Website Management (Wix):
Maintain and update the GiG website, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligned with our brand identity.Implement changes and updates to the website as needed, including adding new content, creating new pages, and optimising site performance.
Monitor website performance and troubleshoot any issues related to functionality, design, or accessibility.
Collaborate with the communications team to integrate digital content and media on the website.
Volunteer Management System (TeamKinetic):
Manage GiG’s volunteer management system on TeamKinetic, including updating volunteer information, roles, and project assignments.Implement necessary changes or improvements in the system based on organisational needs, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
Provide support to the volunteer coordinators and team members in using the system, ensuring all users are familiar with the platform.
Work closely with the volunteer team to manage recruitment, tracking, and reporting on volunteer activities.
IT Support:
Provide general IT support to the GiG team, troubleshooting basic tech issues related to software or hardware.
Ensure that all digital tools and platforms are functioning correctly, and address any technical challenges that may arise.
Digital Systems Optimization:
Work to improve the overall efficiency of GiG’s digital tools, suggesting and implementing improvements in functionality and user experience.
Stay updated on Wix and TeamKinetic features to ensure GiG is using the most effective and up-to-date tools.
Skills, experience and attributes needed
Web Savvy Individuals: Those with experience managing websites, especially on Wix, who are comfortable updating and optimising digital platforms using CMS, CSS and custom coding.
Tech Problem Solvers: Individuals with IT support skills who can troubleshoot technical issues and keep systems running smoothly.
Organised and Efficient: Detail-oriented professionals capable of managing multiple tasks, such as website updates and volunteer system changes.
Learners and Adapters: People who are excited to learn new tools (e.g., TeamKinetic) and contribute to improving GiG’s digital experience.
