The Opportunity
As Communications and Media Manager, you will lead the strategic communications and media efforts of Plan International’s EU Office, driving visibility and influence across key EU audiences. Sitting at the intersection of advocacy, policy, and programming, this role is central to positioning Plan International as a credible and impactful voice on children’s rights and gender equality. Working closely with the Influencing, Partnerships, and Management Teams, you will craft and deliver cohesive messaging that strengthens our profile and supports our mission within the EU context
 
About you
  • Proven experience in communications and media roles, with a strong track record of successful media engagement and placements, particularly in the EU media landscape
  • Expertise in social media management, including live coverage, content creation, platform algorithms, and creative asset development
  • Strong understanding of EU institutions and policy, especially EU humanitarian aid, development, and international cooperation frameworks related to child rights and gender equality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences; additional languages are an asset
  • Experience working in international and multicultural environments, with strong intercultural communication skills
  • Understanding of online communication strategies to boost awareness and campaign engagement
  • Knowledge of GDPR, privacy regulations, and data management best practices
  • Ability to communicate complex or technical information clearly and compellingly to a variety of audiences
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills to build and maintain relationships across teams and stakeholders
