DUTIES INCLUDE:
Under the general direction of the Research Manager, Portfolio Planning and Impact Evaluation, the ARPM, GESI will be required to:
1. Support RPMs to liaise with project Leaders in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the GESI strategies in the projects within their program area.
2. Lead the implementation of key initiatives identified in the ACIAR GESI Strategy and Action Plan.
3. Drive GESI thought leadership within ACIAR through expert advice on the implementation of cross-cutting components of the Action Plan and Co-Chairing the ACIAR GESI Committee.
4. Support the Manager of Portfolio Planning and Impact Assessment to develop and implement portfolio-wide GESI design and monitoring guidance, end-of-project and post-project evaluation of the GESI outcomes and impacts of ACIAR research.
5. Support the Social Systems RPM to identify, assess and commission novel GESI research, and to manage and evaluate active GESI research projects.
6. Maximise the potential contribution of GESI-specific knowledge generated by ACIAR’s research investments by working with project teams, ACIAR outreach and country Network to identify appropriate knowledge brokering opportunities.
7. Represent ACIAR and assist RPMs in communicating with and advising other Australian and partner country agencies on matters relating to GESI in agriculture and natural resource management in the smallholder sector.
8. Contributetheir specific research or professional expertise to the management of the ACIAR Research and Capacity Building Program as required including through peer review of ACIAR projects and programs, contribution to submissions and reviews, and contribution to internal committees.
9. Contribute to the corporate development of ACIAR by assisting in the induction, training and mentoring of staff and participation in broader corporate and outreach activities. Undertake interstate and overseas travel as required, to engage with our Australian and in-country research partners, and contribute to the development and review of ACIAR projects.

•Qualifications
-Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field equivalent professional experience
Our successful ARPM, GESI will possess the:
•Demonstrated knowledge of current gender theory and substantive experience with its application in their search for the development sector
•A record of thought leadership related to the gendered dimension of human development
•Substantive experience in leading the delivery of priority initiatives within organisations and supporting the consistent application of organisational policies and processes
•Ability to work independently, support organisational change processes and engage proactively with a virtual team
