About the Role
The Project Manager will be working in collaboration with existing staff and under the guidance and supervision of the Board of Directors. The primary focus will be to manage the Scale-Up Project, along with overseeing core operations and supporting the organization’s growth.
Responsibilities
Administration
- Manage organization email accounts, documents, and folders
- Manage accounts, passwords, and subscription renewals
- Manage project-specific tasks and track deadlines for deliverables
Strategic Planning & Policies

Manage the strategic planning process (in collaboration with external consultant) - Manage the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) strategy development process (in collaboration with external consultant)
- Oversee the development of organization policies and procedures (in collaboration with external consultants; e.g., governance, human resources, finances, communications, etc.)
- Produce annual impact report(s)
Governance & Human Resources
- Engage with and proactively report to the Board of Directors
- Expand and maintain the membership program
- Recruit, onboard, and manage project staff and volunteers
- Oversee timely delivery of project-specific tasks by staff and volunteers
Finances
- Manage the funding strategy development process (in collaboration with external consultant)
- Write funding proposals and grant applications
- Manage project budgets and general expenses
- Fulfill all grant and legal reporting requirements
Communications
- Manage the communications strategy development process (in collaboration with external consultant)
- Support the organization rebrand and website redesign process (in collaboration with external consultant)
- Oversee communications deliverables (e.g., website maintenance, blogs, newsletters, social media, etc.)
- Manage external communications requests (e.g., media inquiries, partnerships, outreach, presentations, etc.)
Qualifications & Skills
A degree in a relevant area of study (e.g., gender studies, urban planning, design) or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience managing projects or programs in the non-profit or community-focused sector
- Strong organizational and time management skills, especially for leading complex, time-bound projects
- Familiarity with intersectional feminist frameworks and equity-centered approaches
- Experience coordinating consultants, tracking deliverables, and managing budgets
- Grant writing, expense tracking, and reporting experience
- Clear and responsive communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Comfortable working independently and in a remote environment
