Role Overview

Girls in Global (GiG) is looking for an organised, empathetic, and culturally aware Global Community Engagement Manager to lead the engagement experience of our expanding global volunteer network.

In this role, you will be our connector, this includes: ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new volunteers via our TeamKinetic system, distributing people across regional hubs, and fostering inclusive representation and engagement by coordinating with regional hub leads.

These regional hubs will span different geographies and cultures, amplifying the strength of grassroots feminist action.

For this role, we are looking for a passionate individual who understands how to build and connect communities. If you are someone with experience and know-how in online volunteer and community engagement tactics; platforms, and infrastructure, your contribution will be a meaningful addition to how we connect with people across the world.Key Responsibilities:Volunteer Onboarding & Coordination (TeamKinetic):Oversee onboarding of new volunteers via TeamKinetic, ensuring clarity and connection to GiG’s mission.Assign new volunteers to their respective regional hubs based on location, language, and area of interest.Maintain volunteer data and assist our Website and IT manager in keeping TeamKinetic accurate, private, and up-to-date.Hub Coordination & Inclusion:Serve as a central point of contact between the core team and regional hub leads.Liaise with hub leads to ensure volunteer roles are active, inclusive, and fulfilling.Ensure equitable representation and participation across all hubs, advocating for inclusion where needed.Community Building & Engagement:Organise check-ins, feedback sessions, and informal community calls to sustain volunteer engagement.Implement spaces and discussions that encourage inter-regional collaboration and mutual support across diverse communities.Work closely with other team members to plan events, campaigns, or opportunities to feature volunteer stories and experiences.Strategic Support & Problem Solving:Identify gaps or challenges in engagement and work proactively to co-create solutions.Facilitate discussions and ideas to improve volunteer experiences and strengthen community care practices.

Skills, experience and  attributes needed | Technologically Savvy:
Those with experience in supporting tasks like website management, IT support, google sheets, or would see using technology as a strong skill.
People-First Organisers:
Those who enjoy supporting communities, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring everyone feels seen and valued.
Strong Communicators: Individuals with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across diverse cultures, identities, and time zones.
Organised & Responsive: Able to manage multiple threads of communication, track tasks across platforms, and respond promptly when needed.
Advocates for Inclusion: Committed to making sure all volunteers feel equitably engaged and represented.
Experience with Volunteer Management Software (Nice to Have): Familiarity with TeamKinetic or similar platforms is helpful, but not mandatory—training will be provided.
