Position Summary
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Research Manager with a strong background in UX research, research operations, and ethics compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in UX research methodologies, IRB/REB processes, and research project management. You will lead research on the experiences of individuals seeking sexual and reproductive healthcare. In this role, you'll support the CEO and leadership team by managing research protocols, overseeing ethics compliance, and ensuring high-quality user-centered research practices. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about combining UX research with operational excellence within a feminist digital health organization.
Key Responsibilities
UX Research Management
- Lead and implement UX research projects, employing qualitative and quantitative methods to gather user insights.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and development teams to ensure research insights inform product enhancements and user experiences.
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations and clearly communicate results across teams.
Ethics & Compliance
- Draft, coordinate, and manage ethics protocol submissions (REB/IRB applications, amendments, renewals).
- Ensure consistent compliance with institutional, donor, and organizational research standards.
Research Project Coordination
- Manage research project timelines, deliverables, and internal and external team communications.
- Facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration between internal teams and external research partners.
Grant Support
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and supporting documentation (CVs, biosketches, letters of support).
- Track grant timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Support the development of interim and final grant reports.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain organized records of research documentation, including UX research protocols, IRB submissions, consent forms, and data management plans.
- Oversee shared research files for optimal accessibility and version control.
General Operational Support
- Coordinate and document research team meetings and follow-up actions.
- Provide logistical support for research events, webinars, and stakeholder engagements.
- Implement and streamline internal processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- 2–4 years of experience in UX research, research coordination, or research operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing IRB/REB applications and ethical compliance processes.
- Strong background in global health, public health, reproductive health, or feminist research.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to translate complex research findings into actionable insights.
- Strong writing skills with experience developing research for peer-reviewed publications
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Google Workspace, Zoom, Airtable, Notion, Slack, or similar tools.
- Spanish language skills
