Background
The High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in 2025, convened under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council, will take place from Monday, 14 July, through Wednesday, 23 July 2025. The theme of the forum will be "Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for leaving no one behind”. As part of this process, the Women’s Major Group (WMG) develops a Position Paper annually to highlight key priorities and perspectives from feminists and women’s rights activists worldwide on the implementation of the SDGs. Examples from WMG HLPF position papers from 2022, 2023, 2024 can be found at the hyperlinks.
Scope of Work
The selected Consultant will be responsible for:
· Preparing methodologies for gathering input for the position paper from WMG members. (Note: WMG will already start collecting inputs from members earlier, so there will be a set of inputs to bring together at the start of the consultancy).
· Supporting the collection of inputs from WMG members throughout the course of the consultancy, in various formats, in collaboration with the WMG Secretariat and OPs.
· Tracking and coordinating inputs from WMG members and following up with WMG
secretariat for the deadlines for inputs.
· Coordination and consolidation of inputs, drafting and final editing of the WMG 2025 Position Paper.
· Final delivery of the WMG 2024 Position Paper by 16 May 2025, for review by WMG members and endorsement for submission by 23 May 2025.
Qualifications of Consultant

● Feminist orientation and expertise, with a systemic/structural lens;
● Strong familiarity with current debates and developments in the intersections of gender equality and sustainable development, examples:
● Right to development
● Digital Inclusion and AI
● Gender and Climate
● International Financial Architecture Reform/Financing for Development
● Roots in/experience with global and/or national, regional, local feminist movements seeking structural change;
● Excellent writing skills (in English) and ability to analyze and synthesize complex information;
● Previous experience in collective work in feminist platforms;
● Ability to demonstrate recent undertaking of relevant/similar work;
● Open and responsive to feedback; collegiate and able to perform in diverse regional and cultural contexts.

Ability to respectfully navigate diverse perspectives, handle debate or pushback with sensitivity and care, and effectively collaborate with coalitions and partners in a co-creative process.
● Ability to work independently in a timely manner.
