Peace and Security
Purpose:
The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) is seeking the services of a consultant for the ‘The SWPM Syrian - Syrian Feminist Peace Process Initiative’. This Initiative aims to activate a new political feminist track program aspiring to strengthen the principles of negotiation and national dialogue in accordance with feminist standards and values among participants from different Syrian political entities and to bring closer views on the role of Syrian women in peacebuilding processes. The consultant is required to mediate dialogue within the SWPM Political Feminist Track for Peace Building initiative, including an expanded dialogue process with stakeholders who are representatives of the various Syrian political components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Consulting work includes the following:
● Promote inclusive and diverse discussion among participants to work on electoral system, transitional justice, reconciliation and forgiveness, civil peace, national identity, and the social contract.
● Ensure that women are highlighted throughout the discussion, and make clear the need for women's voices in these dialogues.
● Complete eight workshops with detailed agendas, content development, and build presentations.
● Support the Syrian-Syrian dialogue roundtable held in November 2025.
● Development of a recommendation paper that forms the basis of agreement among participating parties to be submitted for publishing at the end of the project period (December 2025), including an executive summary, detailed findings, and results from each workshop dialogue, and actionable recommendations to be published and shared widely with key Syrian and international stakeholders.
● Provide a detailed quarterly report and final report
Deliverables:
● Workshops: Organize and conduct eight workshops, each with a detailed agenda, content development, and presentations to effectively engage participants in meaningful dialogue.
● Post-Workshop reports: After each workshop, provide a report that summarizes the key discussions, outcomes, and insights.
● Syrian-Syrian Dialogue Roundtable: Support the Syrian-Syrian dialogue roundtable event in November 2025 to foster continued dialogue and agreement.
● Final Agreed Paper: Development of a final, comprehensive paper that consolidates all findings, recommendations, and outcomes from the workshops. This paper will be submitted for publication at the end of the project period (December 2025), including an executive summary, detailed findings, results, and actionable recommendations to be shared with key Syrian and international stakeholders.
● Quarterly Report and final report: Submit a detailed quarterly report and final report.
