The Project Coordinator’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate with project partners to ensure participatory, transparent and responsive project management processes.
- Coordinate with the internal Action Canada team, particularly monitoring and evaluation, finance, and communications, to ensure effective and efficient project management.
- Lead the development of a project implementation plan to be submitted to the donor.
- Monitor budget execution and burn rates.
- In collaboration with project partners, prepare and submit high-quality activity and results reports to Global Affairs Canada.
- Co-convene project partner committees to ensure effective coordination, communication and collaboration across all aspects of project implementation.
- Maintain strong relationships and communication with the funder.
- Manage and maintain thorough and efficient program administration across all aspects of the project implementation.
- Organize and facilitate partner meetings, both virtual and in-person, including overseeing all logistical requirements.
- Manage external consultants as required.
- Effectively resolve conflict between stakeholders by encouraging open communication and implementing fair and constructive solutions.
- Participate in cross-team Action Canada meetings to contribute to the development of the organization’s advocacy and policy strategies.
- Regularly report verbally and in writing to the Co-Directors of Policy & Advocacy.
- Attend Action Canada’s all-staff meetings.
- Provide information and inputs to the Communications team to support their work.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Employer.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years experience in program/project management; program/project management certification is a strong asset.
- Strong analytical and writing skills in English.
- Proven experience in the development and application of performance measurement frameworks and results-based management.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-value and complex budgets.
- Experience organizing meetings and events.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, including online conferencing tools (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.), project management (Asana), cloud-based document management (Dropbox, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated capacity to work both in a self-directed manner and collaboratively with other staff and stakeholders, as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision while exhibiting strong initiative and judgment.
- Shows a deep understanding of African culture, with specialized knowledge of the traditions, histories, and socio-political contexts of Benin, Mozambique, and Nigeria, enhancing the project with culturally aware outcomes.
- Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to sexual and reproductive rights and a person’s right to determine their own sexual and reproductive choices.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
