The ITCILO is the training arm of the International Labour Organization (ILO), a United Nations agency entrusted with promoting social justice, including internationally recognized human rights and labour standards. The ITCILO is accelerating the pace of digital transformation and innovation and runs training and capacity development services online, on campus, and around the world.

Functional responsibilities

Learning objectives:

Familiarize with the mandate and functioning of the ILO and ITCILO in particular in the areas of expertise covered by ILSGEN Programme. Practice the use of a learning management system to support the organization of large multi-language international events, including to develop/update, organize and upload training materials. Enhance knowledge of terminology and language used in the international labour, gender and development discourse. Practice drafting, translation and language assistance skills, during the preparation and delivery of three Academies (ILS, Gender & Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work), international events gathering professionals and experts on line and face-to-face. Under the supervision of the activity managers, the intern would be involved in the preparation, delivery and evaluation of the events, e.g. preparing summary briefs, training materials, videos, and texts to be posted in social networks', as well as in the follow-up. The Intern may occasionally be asked to provide limited language assistance to participants during the course of the events. A professional team of translators and interpreters will support the events.

The intern will be actively involved in the work of the tutors and of the whole Academies team, who will also take care of facilitating his/her exposure to the work of other colleagues and technical Programmes.

Qualifications required
University Degree: (still enrolled in a graduate or post-graduate course or recently completed) in one of the following subjects: Economics; Social Studies, Political
Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Law or in other relevant field. Specialization, if possible: international law, human rights, international relations or development studies, International Comparative Education, gender studies, training design and related fields.
• Compulsory: Excellent knowledge of English and at least one of the following: French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic.
• Excellent use standard computerized software (Microsoft Office, E-mail applications, learning platforms, etc.)
• Having interest and practice in use of social networks, websites and CMS/ LMS
