2. Purpose of the Consultancy
HFHI is seeking a Gender Marker Training Consultant to develop and facilitate training sessions for GECC members. The consultant will be responsible for delivering capacity-building workshops and producing training materials, facilitation guides, and content that HFHI can use for future training.
3. Objectives
The consultant will:
- Design and deliver interactive training sessions on the Gender Marker Tool for up to 100 staff members.
- Equip participants with the skills to apply the Gender Marker in HFHI programming and decision-making processes.
- Develop gender marker training materials, including:
* A facilitation guide for HFHI to use beyond the consultancy.
* A training deck and guide tailored to HFHI’s needs.
* Case studies and practical exercises for applying the Gender Marker Tool.
- Support the Habitat team in identifying staff who are particularly motivated and competent at using the marker
- Support the Habitat team with advice on how HFHI can institutionalize gender integration in its programs using the Gender Marker.

4. Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for:
1. Training Design & Development:
* Reviewing HFHI’s Gender Marker Tool and relevant program materials.
* Designing a structured remote action learning training program that includes presentations, case studies/project examples, and interactive exercises.
* Developing a customized facilitation guide for HFHI staff to conduct future training independently.
2. Training Delivery:
* Conducting virtual and/or in-person training sessions for up to 100 staff.
* Ensuring an inclusive, active learning approach that engages staff across different regions and roles.
* Advising Habitat team on follow-up support (e.g. Q&A sessions, mentoring, or additional resources as needed).
3. Documentation & Final Deliverables:
* Finalized training materials in a branded easy-to-use format (PowerPoint slides, PDFs, and supporting documents).
* Facilitation guide for HFHI to replicate the training.
* Summary key insights, feedback, and recommendations for integrating the Gender Marker more effectively in HFHI programming

Consultant Profile and Qualifications
* Extensive expertise in gender equality, gender mainstreaming, and gender markers in international development.
* Experience designing and facilitating gender marker training for NGOs or global organizations.
Strong knowledge of gender-sensitive programming and best practices in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL).
* Experience working with housing or community development organizations (preferred).
* Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse participants
* English language (required), Spanish preferred
* Experience of working on shelter preferred
