Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI)
EnCompass LLC is seeking a seeking a Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist II to join our Gender Equity and Inclusive Practices team (GE&IP). Principal duties include developing technical resources to strengthen gender integration; conducting gender analyses and assessments; developing, implementing, and evaluating activities that address gender equality and inclusive development, women’s empowerment, male engagement, and gender -based violence prevention and response; and designing and facilitating gender and inclusive development-related training for in-country and U.S. based programs.
We are looking for an individual with experience collecting and analyzing primary and secondary data, implementing USAID and other donor-funded programs, with advanced Spanish and/or French speaking and writing skills preferred.

NOTE: This position is a US-based position, located at EnCompass LLC headquarters office in Silver Spring, Maryland with an option to work on a hybrid basis. The Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist II will be expected to meet with clients in the Washington, DC metro area as needed.

Position Requirements

  • - Bachelors degree in gender studies, social studies, international development, or a related field with a minimum of seven (7) years of professional related experience and at least five (5) years working on gender issues and conducting gender analysis 
  • - Masters degree with a minimum of five (5) years of professional related experience and at least three (3) years working on gender issues and conducting gender analysis

Must:
  1. Have experience working with/on USAID projects
  2. Have at least three (3) years of experience in gender integration, monitoring, evaluation, and learning OR research roles specifically focused on USAID GESI topics/sector.
  3. Be professionally proficient in English
  4. Have strong experience providing technical assistance and/or conducting gender and inclusive development analysis, gender integration, and gender-based violence prevention and response to country-level projects from headquarters, particularly for USAID
  5. Have experience in design and facilitation of GESI and/or GBV trainings and capacity development activities for internal and external stakeholders
  6. Ability to work in a collaborative work environment that utilizes appreciate inquiry, and to model strengths-based approaches for the team
  7. have strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels
  8. Have proven experience forming, managing, and participating in successful teams
  9. Have flexibility and ability to travel internationally or domestically for varying lengths of time
  10. Be skilled in word processing, database management, spreadsheets (Excel), and web-based programs

Preferrable:
  • Experience developing MEL technical designs and data collection tools, managing mixed methods data collection efforts, leading analysis, and preparing high quality reports
  • Professionally proficient in either Spanish or French
  • Active engagement with gender equality and inclusive development networks
  • Ability to deal sensitively in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relations with clients and colleagues
