The Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy plays a pivotal role in securing and sustaining the financial support that fuels our mission. Through strategic relationship-building, compelling storytelling, and innovative funding approaches, this role ensures The Man Cave continues to empower young boys across Australia with life-changing programs.


Duties & Responsibilities
Partnership Development Strategy
Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of a multi-year partnership strategy encompassing corporate partnerships, fundraising appeals, regular giving, trusts and foundations, major gifts, and peer-to-peer campaigns.
Collaborate with the CEO to set financial targets, ensuring sustainable revenue growth.

Philanthropy and Stakeholder management 
Develop and maintain high-trust relationships with corporate and philanthropic partners, ensuring long-term engagement.
Provide timely and responsive support to enquiries and requests from major philanthropic and corporate partners, demonstrating a proactive and service-oriented approach to relationship management.
Create compelling donor engagement materials, including funding proposals, reports, and impact communications.
Negotiate contracts and partnership agreements, consulting with the CEO where necessary.

Grant and Proposal Writing
Lead the development and submission of high-quality grant applications that align with The Man Cave’s mission and funder priorities.
Establish a grant tracking system to manage application timelines, reporting deadlines, and renewal opportunities.
Maintain strong relationships with funding bodies through ongoing communication and program impact reporting.
Implement grant impact evaluation mechanisms, ensuring transparent and effective reporting to funders. 

Team Management 
Lead, coach, and mentor the Project Manager (Partnerships) and Education & Product Manager, supporting their professional growth and contributions.
Set clear goals, expectations and success metrics for your department, aligning these with The Man Cave’s partnership and funding strategy.
Overview workload management and prioritisation, ensuring your team has resources allocated effectively to meet key objectives.
Provide regular feedback, project reviews and development opportunities to support their continuous learning.

The ideal candidate will have:
Proven ability to design, implement, and evaluate partnership strategies, including corporate partnerships, fundraising appeals, and major gifts, ensuring alignment with organisational mission and financial sustainability. With experience using data-driven insights to assess partnership effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making. 
Demonstrated expertise in cultivating, managing, and stewarding long-term relationships with philanthropic partners, ensuring sustained financial support through strategic engagement, effective impact reporting, and tailored stewardship strategies. A strong ability to negotiate funding agreements and deliver high-quality donor experiences.
Extensive experience in developing high-quality grant proposals, managing the end-to-end grant lifecycle, and maintaining strong relationships with grantors. Proven ability to track grant opportunities, ensure compliance with funding requirements, and deliver transparent, timely reporting on financial and programmatic impact.
Proven leadership in guiding and mentoring high-performing teams, creating professional development, and driving organisational impact.
