IRC Emergencies & Humanitarian Action Unit (EHAU) is committed to improving access to life-saving services and providing comprehensive support to communities affected by crisis.
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Women’s Protection & Empowerment (WPE) Manager will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of WPE programming aimed at addressing violence against women and girls (VAWG) through delivery of GBV risk reduction, prevention and response programs. This includes the provision of GBV case management integrated in health facilities, and community-based MHPSS for women and girls and GBV risk reduction activities. Through tailored capacity development and supportive mentoring, the Senior WPE Manager will enhance the technical skills of IRC staff, with a focus on case management, Women Rise (PSS curriculum) and community-led GBV risk reduction strategies. In addition, the Senior WPE Manager will oversee project implementation to ensure alignment with project proposals, donor requirements, and IRC’s global WPE standards. This includes managing project budgets, ensuring timely and high-quality reporting, and fostering collaborative partnerships. The role will report to the project director and work closely with technical leads for Health and WASH to ensure integrated service delivery.
Job Requirements:
• Advanced degree in social sciences, public health, gender studies, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ total experience with least 3 year(s) of experience in Project Management, budget management and tracking the project progress.
• Proven experience in GBV in emergencies/ humanitarian crisis.
• Proven experience in capacity building, training, and case management.
• Strong understanding of the cultural and contextual factors related to GBV in conflict-affected areas.
• Ability to work in a team
• Fluency in Arabic will be an asset
• Excellent communication skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Skills in project evaluation, coaching, training and staff supervision
• Be highly sensitive to the rights and protection of women and children
