Role Summary
The Workplace Equality, Senior Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing the Policy and Advisory services within EQI, with a focus on delivering high-impact evidence-based strategies that address the complex dimensions of inequality in workplaces. This role combines strategic oversight, team management, and subject matter expertise. The goal is to ensure organisations meet their obligations under relevant legislation and implement policies and practices that drive change within their communities to build more inclusive societies.
With exceptional project management skills, a strategic and commercial-oriented mindset, experience in client and stakeholder management and advanced knowledge of state and federal gender legislation, they will play a pivotal role in advancing gender equality through policy and systems change.
Who you are (essential)
- Advanced understanding of gender, intersectionality and DEI principles, including knowledge of relevant state and federal legislation and policies, including the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Victoria), WGEA reporting requirements, and Respect@Work legislation.
- Proven ability to achieve targets and drive growth, identifying and securing new business opportunities, including tender submissions and grant applications, particularly in consultancy or service-based environments.
- At least 7 years’ experience in gender equality, inclusion, diversity, organisational development, or capacity building within workplaces.
- Demonstrated success in managing diverse stakeholders and fostering a collaborative, high-performing workplace culture
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, including report writing, facilitating co-design processes and developing content tailored to varied audiences to achieve client-specific outcomes.
- Proven ability to manage contracts and resources, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery within scope and budget.
- Expert technical skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and navigate challenging conversations effectively.
- Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds including diverse and marginalised communities within or outside of Australia.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Dedicated to continuous learning, innovation, and adapting to emerging issues and feedback.
