What are the main job functions of the Senior Partnerships Officer?
The Senior Partnerships Officer will be actively contributing to fostering social inclusion of LGBTI people and the resourcing of ILGA-Europe’s work aimed at bringing legal, political and social change for LGBTI people across Europe and Central Asia, by working with individual donors and private sector partners (existing and prospect) within the framework of ILGA-Europe’s ethical fundraising standards. The person in this position will lead on the implementation of ILGA-Europe’s fundraising strategy with non-institutional donors, with a view of significantly increasing the organisation’s non-institutional donor base, and of ensuring the organisational capacity to attract and to retain non-institutional donors.
The person will be expected to implement activities to meet fundraising targets over the period of employment, including by strengthening existing fundraising initiatives (such as the annual European Equality Fundraiser and matching funding schemes), by significantly growing our existing base of individual donors and private sector partners, and by reaching out to new groups of supporters. The person will also be expected to play a role in capacity development of the European LGBTI movement by contributing expertise to skills building initiatives carried out by the team, and by providing advice towards resource mobilisation strategies for the movement.
What skills, knowledge and abilities are we looking for?
At ILGA-Europe we understand that not all individuals have the same opportunities to engage in paid work within the LGBTI movement, and value the experience brought in from other areas of work and life. To fit this role well, you should be strongly committed to working for human rights and equality, and have competencies and demonstrated experience in:
- Developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies (preferably with individual donors and private sector partners) for non-governmental organisations that deliver on fundraising targets
- Building the capacity of organisations to build and cultivate relationships with non-institutional donors
- Willingness to relocate to Brussels and to travel in Europe and Central Asia.
