Tasks and Responsibilities
As part of a dynamic and proactive team, the Gender and Inclusion Lead is expected to:

Tasks and Responsibilities
As part of a dynamic and proactive team, the Gender and Inclusion Lead is expected to:
• Engage with internal BII stakeholders, and primarily the Gender and Diversity team, to support TA
project pipeline development.
• Play a collaborative and proactive role as part of the FSG Plus Core Team reporting to the FSG Plus
Technical Director and working closely with other team members.
• Support the Technical Director in the development of Gender and/or Inclusion related Concept Notes
for potential TA Projects, leading on identification of TA needs, project design, socialisation with internal
(and, where relevant, external) stakeholders, and the development of Concept Notes and Application
Forms for successful project approval.
• Provide hands-on, end-to-end support throughout the project life cycle, i.e., leading on project
development, approval and delivery for gender and inclusion related projects.
• Providing technical oversight and project management of TA projects under delivery, including
management of external TA providers
• Contribute to thinking about new ideas on Gender and Inclusion to support Facility Strategy.
• Conduct Quality Assurance of FSG Plus Gender and Inclusion projects in the portfolio, i.e., reviewing
and providing feedback on project deliverables and reporting.
• Contribute to and lead the development of a standardised gender and inclusion framework to serve as
a first point of discussion with Financial Institutions and BII teams.
• Present findings at senior stakeholder presentations and webinars
• Contribute to FSG Plus reporting as required.
The Gender and Inclusion Lead will:
• Have experience in working within or with financial institutions in BII’s core markets.
• Have experience in the identification and implementation of gender-smart and inclusion focused TA
interventions.
• Be familiar with the 2X Criteria and industry wide measures (IRIS+, GIIN Gender Framework, etc.).
• Have experience in undertaking upfront gender analysis to inform project design for Financial
Institutions.
• Have experience in the development of financial products and the enhancement/improvement of
systems and processes to catalyse gender lens investment and inclusion.
• Ensure Technical Assistance provided to Financial Institutions de-risks and catalyses investment,
supporting FIs in tailoring financial products to serve the specific needs of underserved groups.
• Facilitate behaviour change and learning through data collection and research.
• Liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including BII’s internal Gender and Diversity team, the Gender
Finance Working Group, Financial Institutions, Fund Managers, Technical Assistance Providers,
Leadership Teams, portfolio companies, etc.
• Have experience in working within or with financial institutions in BII’s core markets.
