PSEA/ Safeguarding Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI)
UNOPS support to partners spans the humanitarian-development nexus from emergency response to building back better, across the housing, health, education, transport, energy and mine action sectors, through infrastructure, procurement and technical assistance / project management interventions, with the ultimate aim of supporting the country on its EU accession and in its achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals

GESI technical support:

  • Under the guidance of the supervisor and in close collaboration with the GESI Focal Points of the Office, and  the Regional GESI Focal Point, coordinate  the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the GESI Action Plan for 2025..
  • Map current GESI mainstreaming initiatives in projects, identify strategic gaps, and make recommendations.
  • Nurture a network of GESI Focal Points in Ukraine + Moldova to promote the exchange of ideas, coordinate the implementation of the Action Plans, and facilitate discussions around relevant issues.

PSEAH technical support:

  • In close collaboration with the PSEAH Focal Points of the Office, as well as with the Regional PSEAH focal point,  execute the assigned activities of the PSEAH Action Plan for 2025, from implementation to monitoring and reporting.
  • In close collaboration with SMT, HR and HSSE teams provide the required analysis and technical guidance to Ukraine personnel in implementation of PSEAH prevention, risk mitigation, and put in place response measures during planning and project development, and programming.
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings, workshops and working groups on PSEA, as relevant, and increase in-country participation in PSEA fora, and partnerships with UNCT PSEA Network and members and key partners.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM) Management
  • With technical assistance from UNOPS global expertise, set up and manage UAMCO GRM, and ensure PSEAH reporting modalities and included, sensitized and managed in all  new projects, as appropriate, while taking into consideration confidentiality criteria.
  • On a regular basis update UAMCO senior leadership on progress of the GRM and recommend further resource requirements as and when required.
  • Act as Focal Point for receiving complaints in close collaboration with PSEAH Focal Points.
  • In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, develop a services list for survivor services, and make referrals as needed. Support victims as needed. 


Education/Experience/Language requirements


  • Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience preferably in social work, social sciences, gender, international development, public management and administration or other relevant related field, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience preferably in social work, social sciences, gender, international development, public management and administration or other relevant related fields is required
  • Minimum two years of experience in any of the following areas (including a combination): prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, gender, gender-based violence, sexual harassment, protection or workplace conduct is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in developing and facilitating training and capacity-building activities is required.
  • At least 1 year of familiarity with data protection and confidentiality measures is required.
  • Fluency in English (read, write and speak) is required
