JOB PURPOSE
To provide support for communications activities of the IPPF EN office, including for the Countdown 2030 Europe and Safeguarding Gender Equality in EU External Action projects.
KEY TASKS
Communications
To provide support for the strategic communications activities of IPPF EN, mainly focusing on advancing the gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) agenda, within the EU and through international cooperation and EU external action. In particular:
• support in the creation of communications materials;
• social media support (X, LinkedIn & Instagram);
• support in mainstreaming new narratives through digital communications;
• support with layout and designing of position papers and factsheets (including using Canva);
• support with activities ahead of EWAG 2025 and work with the IPPF EN young people invited;
• help with the management of websites and content upload;
• help with monitoring and evaluation of targets laid out in the communications strategy;
• support in coordination communication activities with partner organisations;
• support implementing the editorial calendar for the #AWorldWhere campaign;
• support in writing pieces for the website and newsletter.
Overall project support
• To support with the compiling of project information, logistics and reporting;
• Contribute to the logistical organisation of online and offline events, capacity building meetings and representation visits
• Provide administrative support for grant-making and the contracting of different consultancies/service providers
• To perform other duties as agreed with supervisor.
3. QUALIFICATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Right to work in Belgium
- Interest and/or (volunteer) experience in communications (experience also in advocacy is an asset).
- Interest in SRHR work, human rights and/or European affairs
SKILLS & PERSONAL COMPETENCES
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), any other languages are an asset;
- Ability to use communications softwares (Canva);
- Strong writing skills;
- Ability to work on WordPress-based websites is an asset;
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, particularly X & Instagram (other social media are an asset);
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Combining creative flair with an eye for detail;
- Ability to work under pressure, good time management, punctual;
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a multicultural environment;
- Open minded, empathic and flexible;
- Commitment to gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights, non-discrimination and diversity, and young people and youth participation are a must.
