Key Responsibilities
Case Studies and Production
• Scope, identify and produce stories and case studies from Plan International offices across the world through a variety of means including commissioning and some hands-on collecting
• Establish excellent working relationships with UK and global colleagues to effectively and efficiently maintain an up-to-date bank of case studies, in line with core brand messaging as well as ad hoc campaigns, themes or emergencies
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to identify and collect case studies and stories about Plan International supporters, child sponsors, partners etc. to support key fundraising or influencing messages or campaigns
Storytelling Best Practice
• Work with the Brand and Content Lead to establish Plan International UK’s approach to storytelling and ethical content collection, ensuring our communications are in line with our safeguarding principles, antiracism principles, brand guidelines and best practice ways of working
• Champion and review the representation of our programme participants in line with brand guidelines, antiracism principles and best practice across all Plan International UK communications
• Ensure effective, transparent procedures and tools are in place for all external communications
Content Production, Management and Curation
• Play an active role in contributing to the content planning, production and creative direction of the Brand & Content team
• Where required, supported all aspects of any additional content production from briefing, planning and production, including managing external suppliers and agencies, using storytelling expertise
• Lead on the storage of Plan International UK assets on the UK Media Bank, working with a devolved network of contributors and a super admin group to ensure this is kept up to date and the information it holds is accurate
Essential Criteria
• A confident storyteller and writer with experience of communicating complex, challenging or controversial themes in an accessible and engaging way
• Significant experience of researching, commissioning, producing and managing case studies to support multiple organisational campaigns or goals
• The ability to build excellent, collaborative relationships with colleagues and external suppliers to deliver high-quality, multimedia content in a global setting
• Experience of managing content curation and storage processes, including digital media libraries A thorough awareness and understanding of ethical storytelling, safeguarding and best practice in content production in NGO contexts
• Proven experience of planning, briefing and managing the production of multimedia assets, inhouse and working with external suppliers
• Experience of best-practice interviewing and story collection techniques and processes, and producing content with vulnerable or at-risk individuals and communities
• Excellent planning and organisation skills, to manage competing deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment
