Key Responsibilities
● Fundraising Strategy:
○ Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, focusing on major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual donor engagement;
○ Review on quarterly basis the fundraising strategy with the CEO and Operations team to ensure we are on track.
○ Monitor and report fundraising KPIs on a monthly basis.
● Donor Cultivation:
○ Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors, fostering a culture of trust and transparency.
○ Strategically manage the fundraising stakeholder pipeline through Vitala’s communication platforms in order to facilitate strategic outreach and communication relevant to the audience in target.
● Grant Writing:
○ Lead the grant application process, from researching funding opportunities to drafting compelling proposals and reporting on outcomes.
○ Support the grant-writing process in collaboration with Vitala’s grant writer.
● Event Planning:
○ Organize and execute fundraising events, both virtual and in-person, to engage donors and increase awareness of Vitala Global’s impact.
○ Represent the organization at external meetings and conferences including scoping donors and potential partners to support fundraising.
● Campaign Management:
○ Plan and manage online and offline fundraising campaigns, tracking progress and optimizing strategies to meet revenue goals.
○ Liaison with the CEO, project implementation and the communication team to curate strategic communication strategies in support of fundraising campaigns and goals.
● Data Management:
○ Analyze fundraising data and metrics to evaluate performance, generate insights, and inform future fundraising efforts.
○ Managing the fundraising pipeline on Vitala’s CRM and key tracking spreadsheet and maintaining a clean and up-to-date track record of fundraising progress and relevant information.
● Team Collaboration:
○ Work closely with the communications and program teams to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and impact stories.
○ Lead the yearly Impact Report in a co-collaborative process with Measurement & Impact team, Country Leads, Director of Projects
Qualifications
● Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, business development, or related fields, preferably within the nonprofit or tech sectors.
● Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in securing major gifts, managing donor relationships, and achieving fundraising targets.
● Writing Skills: Exceptional grant writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a compelling way.
● Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies that align with Vitala Global’s mission and goals.
● Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with experience engaging diverse donor audiences.
● Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with digital fundraising tools, CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, DonorPerfect, Hubspot, Asana, DonorBox), and data-driven fundraising strategies.
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
