Movement building Sexual & reproductive rights (SRHR) Health
Position Summary:
The Women’s Equality Center provides strategic communications and campaign support to the reproductive health, rights, and justice field at all levels, developing long-term, big-picture messaging frameworks around emerging issues and complementing and strengthening the work of organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean via grants, integrated policy and communications campaigns, and rapid-response operations.

WEC is a highly collaborative environment in which we keep structure, hierarchy, and reporting lines intentionally loose and the boundaries between roles flexible to ensure that we’re bringing the full range of expertise, experience, and perspective of every team member to the strategies we’re developing and work we’re doing. Everyone does a little bit of everything here. We’ve worked very hard to establish an organizational culture based on collaboration, candor, transparency, and a great deal of mutual respect and trust. We take it very seriously, and we will need you to as well.

Reporting to the Director of Campaigns & Advocacy Programs, the Program Manager is a strongly detail-oriented and proactive problem-solver with demonstrated project management skills. The Program Manager will support the smooth implementation of the organization’s programmatic strategies and tactics. The Program Manager will need to be bilingual, and fluently speak, write, and read in Spanish and English.

Essential Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Support the execution of programming strategies - with a focus on managing critical workflows including team logistics, operations, and events
  • Serve as liaison between WEC’s program team and operations team to move forward vendor and partner contracts, payment documentation, and invoices
  • Manage grant reporting with an external consultant
  • Work across strategic teams, consultants, agencies, and partner organizations to manage and implement strategies.
  • Provide written materials as needed in both English and Spanish.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must have the following skills and qualities:

  • 5+ years of experience in program management work aimed at pushing policy, political, or cultural progress.
  • Complete fluency in both Spanish and English. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a knack for creative and engaging copywriting and an eagle eye for editing.
  • Strong virtual communication and collaboration skills: efficiency and comfort with Zoom, Slack, and Google Suite, responsiveness via email, and willingness to participate in group calls or as needed.
  • Comfortable multitasking and managing many projects simultaneously, and under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment, and open to criticism and compromise. High attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with and respect people of different cultures and viewpoints.
  • Passion for making a difference; a growth mindset, can-do attitude, versatility, and openness to engaging in a spectrum of work.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, up to 25% of the time, some of which may occur over holidays and weekends.
