Movement building
Numun Fund’s mission is to mobilise and redistribute diverse resources for a growing ecosystem of feminist tech activism, in order to strengthen the power of social justice movements and build technology for the world we want.
Role Summary
The Programmes Weaver is a key role responsible for the shaping and coordination of Numun Fund’s programmes. A major element of this position is leading the design, management, and implementation of Numun’s grantmaking programme, and the development of its community strengthening strategy. This is a core area of Numun Fund's mission.
The person works in partnership with co-Programme Weavers to further develop, better and manage our grantmaking systems and mechanisms, grow Numun’s relationships in the field and movements, and play a key role in the development and implementation of our Learnings, Evaluation and Assessments Framework (LEAF). The Programme Weavers also work with the Co-Cartographer (Executive Director) to imagine and define grantmaking and programmatic strategies to meet Numun’s key objectives.
The person will be the direct liason with Numun’s Community-led Selection Committee, nodes of organisers (grantee-partners), as well as the network of feminist tech activists and advisors that Numun consults and partners with in our work. The Weavers are also in close community with Feminist, Women’s, Human Rights and Technology Funds who are our peer ecosystem actors.
This role is especially exciting and creative at this phase of the fund. We are looking for someone with solid participatory grantmaking and project management experience, and good understanding of processes needed for accountability and community engagement - and who can build from this foundation to shape and implement Numun Fund's grantmaking programme to meet its mission as a feminist activist fund. We are also looking for someone who is curious and excited to build knowledge on resourcing the feminist technology and movement, and translating that into programmatic, community building and resource mobilisation strategies. We are interested to understand your activism and vision for change in this role
Who we are looking for
Experience, competencies and values required:
- Clear feminist politics and/or a critical understanding of systemic and structural power, particularly from a Larger World (aka global South) standpoint.
- Curiosity and conviction in resourcing feminist movement organising, and/or feminist technology work, particularly in the Larger World.
- Substantive knowledge and experience in designing, planning, implementing and maintaining processes to conduct participatory grantmaking and manage partnerships
- Substantive knowledge and experience of re-granting and grant-making systems, including the use of workflow, CRM, data analysis and/or grant management software systems.
- Excellent relationship management skills displaying an understanding in how to cultivate transparent, collaborative and equitable partnerships with all stakeholders, especially with nodes of organisers on the ground (grantee-partners).
- Informed, connected and grounded in movements or context that you are a part of.
- Clear communicator, including strong writing skills in English.
